2017 Goals: Mid-year Update

Hard to believe we are half way through another year.  As far as our progress towards our goals we are doing really well.  We have already achieved goal #5.  We are right on pace for goals #3 and #4.  We will probably be able to reduce our 401k contributions soon, which will hopefully free up some more money so that we can try to catch up on goal #2 in the second part of the year.

 2017 Goals Update

Goal #1
   Max out our 401k ($18,000).
We are well on our way towards maxing out our 401k account.  At the end of June we have
contributed $12,549.  This puts us at 69.7% of our goal which is well ahead of the game!

Goal #2   Invest $250 a week for a total of $13,000 for the year.
We have saved $4,633 in our investment account so far this year.  This puts us at 35.6% of
our goal.  We have began to fall behind on our savings goal.  Hopefully can catch up in the
            second half of the year.

Goal #3   Saving $200 a month for purchasing an automobile.
We have put back $200 each month for a total of $1,200 this year.  We went ahead a traded
for a new vehicle.  The old pickup was starting to become a money pit.  We will continue to
             add $200 towards the payment.

Goal #4    Saving $400 a month for home repairs.
We were able to replace our furnace and A/C units.  We will continue saving towards the next              project. (It never ends!)

Goal #5    Save $3,600 to take a two week vacation to California.
We have saved the entire $3,600 for our big vacation.  Super Excited!

We will continue to push towards our goals for the year and take another look at the end of the third quarter.
