Every month we are working hard to save money in our dividend fund, so that we can grow a third string of income beyond our paychecks. Hopefully one day this fund will help to send our kids to college and provide a steady income when we decide to retire. In March we received dividend payouts from thirteen different sources for a total of $267.95. The great news is to receive this additional income we didn't have to leave the house and go work somewhere for twenty plus hours.
Although it has taken some work to research companies and save money to invest, the awesome thing about this is we will continue to receive this income for the years to come without really much effort from us. Like every investment it does not come without some risks. There are always chances that this income could be cut if a company struggles and in forced to cut its dividend payout. This is why we are trying to invest in many different companies, known as diversifying your portfolio, so that if one company struggles it does not affect our overall income from the fund very much.
